It’s almost that time of year again, so we just wanted to give you a quick ‘heads up’ to some changes that will be happening this year.
Membership Fees
In 2017 the Blacktoft Beacon net total fee for all members under the age of 18 was £37. In 2018 the Blacktoft Beacon net total fee for all members under the age of 18 will be £38. This is an increase of £1 per paying member.
This increase is broken down into 2 parts; 50p of the increase is directly from HQ and the other 50p is an increase in the District levy.
100% of the extra District income will be ring fenced into our International Fund. This is because members within the District have become more and more involved with international Scouting, which is fantastic! Therefore, applications for grants from our International Fund has increased, which is brilliant as this allows even more members to experience international Scouting. We also know that this will increase further in 2018 & 2019, so we want to be prepared.
Census Data
There will be a few changes to the process this year following feedback HQ received from the 2017 Census.
The key changes are collecting details for ethnicity and additional needs, as well as achievements of Top Awards by young people in Scouting.
More detailed information will be provided soon as HQ build and test the updated Census system.
