Beacons Gang Show is back with a ‘Gang Show in a Weekend’.
A Gang Show is a variety show put on by Scouts and Guides. Beacons Gang Show is the Gang Show based in Blacktoft Beacon Scout District in East Yorkshire but is open to other members of The Scout Association nearby.
Gang Shows give Young People the chance to see what goes on in the theatre, and take on many of the roles within the theatre including being on stage, back stage and technical roles.
The ‘Gang Show in a Weekend’ is a chance for young people to rehearse and perform a show over the course of one weekend. At the moment due to leader support the Gang Show in a weekend is only open to members of The Scout Association, we will look to open this up to members of Guiding next time.
The performance is open to all to come and enjoy while the weekend is only open to Cubs, Scouts and Explorers, backstage roles are only open to those aged 16 and above. We do have a small number of technical roles for the weekend which will involve running the lights and sound during the performance, creating the programme and managing the media aspects of the show over the weekend.
The performer / Tech crew price incudes the overnight accommodation, food for the weekend.
The Performance will be on Sunday 2nd October between 15:00 and 17:00, doors open at 14:30.

Terms and Conditions
To take part in the event you must be a member of The Scout Association, all adults attending the event (excepting the final performance) must have a valid DBS check from The Scout Association.
The minimum age for anyone attending is 7 and three quarters and you must be considered a Cub.
There are no refunds offered for this event, once a ticket is booked the place is confirmed.

Changes from 2022
We have decided to make the following changes from our 2022 Gang Show in a Weekend. If your child attended this it is worth checking this to see what is different:
- We are moving the performance back to 15:00 to have a more relaxed Sunday

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
You don’t need ID, but for the actors, and tech crew you must be aged between 8 and 18. All adults who are helping for the weekend must be a member of The Scout Association, Occasional Helper minimum with a current DBS.
Anyone can come to see the show.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Parking is available outside the village hall, while the car park is fairly large, it does fill up so you may need to park on the street

When coming to see the show, you can bring drinks and snacks, we will have some light refreshments on sale before and during the interval.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Please bring either your printed ticket or the email confirmation so we can make sure you get to the right seat.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn’t match the person who attends?
That’s fine, but please make sure any actor, tech crew and backstage crews details are correct as we use this for printing name badges and certificates.
