At the Roadshows we, County touched on the need for updating data in Compass, more information is now available and we would appreciate your support in carrying this out locally.

It is important to remember that this is a task that can be shared within District and Group teams, we are not expecting this to fall on a single volunteer.

Why clean up Compass data?

This will smooth the transition process and reduce the number of puzzled volunteers after the new system is live and the more we are able to do beforehand, the better.

The first stage involves;

a) Confirming that every volunteer’s personal details are up to date on Compass.

b) Updating volunteers’ roles and training.

c) Closing Occasional Helper “roles” that are no longer needed.

d) Remove any undeliverable email addresses.

It is recommended that the topics are prioritised in the order shown above, though please note that completing topic (c) early may reduce the work required in topic (a).

Note that the final topic – (d) – is important but can be left to be tackled after topics (a) to (c) are complete.

Future Stages – There will be a need for other Compass preparation stages (once the above are complete). These will include a focus on (at least) emails, organisation records (for sections, groups, Districts and County) and learning. More details will be provided later (during 2023).

Transformation Timescales

The timeline for the whole of transformation is currently being reviewed to ensure there is sufficient time to prepare for the changes and listen to feedback. As soon as the updated timeline is available, we will share this with you.
