At the end of January, Blacktoft Beacon was proud to be well represented at the first ever Humberside Youth Forum.

We were super proud to hear we made up half of all attendees. We were also delighted to see some of our new Network members taking part.

The forum focused on Top Awards, particularly the more challenging elements, so that better support can be put in place to help all young people succeed.

Now, we want to hear from even more people — from the comfort of your own Section Meetings.

Who Can Take Part?

We’re inviting:

  • Scouts
  • Explorers
  • Scout Leaders
  • Explorer Leaders

There are two short sets of questions:

Why Get Involved?

The feedback collected will directly shape how the County Top Awards Team plan their actions and support for 2026–2027.

By taking part, you’ll help us:

  • Understand what’s working well
  • Identify barriers to achieving top awards
  • Improve support for Scouts and Explorers across the County

Running This in Your Section Meeting

Start by splitting young people into small groups or Patrols to talk through the questions together, giving everyone the chance to share ideas and views in a relaxed, supportive way. Once discussions are complete, you can share the QR codes so young people can submit their responses directly to the online form, or Leaders can collate group feedback and submit the responses on their behalf. This keeps the process simple, inclusive, and easy to run within a normal Scout or Explorer Section Meeting.

We have also added everything you need as an activity on OSM too!

Let’s work together to make top awards more achievable, more supported and more inspiring for every young person in Humberside.
